Responsibilities:
- Independently design, plan, and execute experiments using scientific and technical expertise to achieve specific goals within defined timelines
- Perform all aspects of routine in vivo studies autonomously, including dosing, animal identification, health monitoring, sample collection, and tissue processing
- Initiate, develop, optimize, and validate assays as needed to support experimental objectives
- Utilize molecular techniques, tissue immunostaining, and multi-color flow cytometry to deepen understanding of drug mechanisms
- Perform regular maintenance on laboratory equipment to ensure functionality and reliability
- Responsible for ordering and maintaining adequate supplies of laboratory consumables to support ongoing experiments.
- Thrive in a dynamic, matrixed environment, effectively contributing to and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrate proficiency in independently troubleshooting experimental procedures as they arise
- Provide training and mentorship to laboratory staff, ensuring adherence to protocols and best practices
- Bachelor's degree with 2 years of research in a biology lab setting OR master's degree in a relevant field (immunology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or medical lab science)
- Experience with animal handling, routine routes of injection, health monitoring, sample collection and tissue collection
- Experience with general molecular biology techniques such as qPCR and nucleic acid extraction from tissues and cells
- Ability to optimize and troubleshoot assays in the form of ELISA, Western blot or others
- Experience with IHC/IF including downstream analysis
- Experience in cell culture with both mammalian cell lines and primary immune cells
