Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Credentialing Specialist located in Thomasville, GA. The Credentialing Specialist will be responsible for handling credentialing tasks related to healthcare professionals, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and providing top-notch customer service in the process. This role plays a critical part in maintaining our commitment to quality and regulatory excellence.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1-2 yrs. experience in credentialing, healthcare staffing, or a related administrative role
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in a healthcare setting is a plus
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, review, and verify credentials and documentation for healthcare professionals, including licenses, certifications, immunizations, background checks, and employment history
- Monitor expirations and proactively manage renewals of licenses, certifications, and other time sensitive credentials
- Maintain and update accurate records in credentialing databases and applicant tracking systems
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals, recruiters, and clients to resolve any credentialing deficiencies or delays
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards, federal & state regulations, and client specific credentialing
- Assist with supporting onboarding processes by ensuring all required documentation is complete and verified prior to assignment start dates, if needed
- Respond to client and internal team inquiries regarding credentialing status and requirements
- Participate in internal audits and assist with compliance initiatives as needed
