SUMMARY
Responsibilities include identifying, organizing, and controlling software and hardware configuration changes; identification, development, and implementation of processes for change/version management, and system builds; backup, archiving, and recovery of all configuration management data.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Work under general guidelines and minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated initiative, customer orientation, and team work competencies.
- Implement configuration management and information assurance procedures and processes following industry best practices.
- Plan and execute new software releases, plan and execute system patches, and resolve related problems.
Other Job Functions
- Manage day to day activities related to configuration management.
- Track compliance with policies and procedures and resolve/escalate any compliance issues.
- Conduct configuration management audits.
- Review system outage resolution results, responses, and disposition of failed changes due to configuration management issues.
- Facilitate communication across stakeholders to encourage configuration management efforts and its value proposition.
- Engage in strategic thinking to ensure that configuration management functionality can be delivered consistently and within project time frames.
- Review and approve all changes to the configuration management infrastructure, where applicable.
- Mentors organization on configuration management services, concepts, policies, and procedures.
- Provides and approves all requirements, use cases, user stories, etc. in support of new or improving functionality of configuration management.
- Reviews and approves all requests for administrator log on credentials/access rights to the configuration management infrastructure.
- Reviews and publishes configuration management reporting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Senior level knowledge of configuration management principles, tools, and best practices in a large-scale environment.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of, and experience with, Red Hat Linux and Ansible; Git or other DVCSs; and ANSI/EIA/IEEE/ISO standards in relation to configuration management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
