The Athol-Royalston Middle School is seeking an English Language Arts teacher to join our team.
The successful candidate will possess an MA Educator License appropriate to the field and level of the position. It is necessary to have the content knowledge and ability to provide instruction aligned with the Massachusetts ELA Standards. Additionally, the candidate will possess the experience and knowledge of best practices for teaching and will have strong organizational and classroom management skills.

Job Details
The Athol-Royalston Middle School (ARMS) is seeking an ELA teacher responsible for delivering a high-quality instructional experience consistent with the curriculum standards of the school district.
Essential duties for all teachers include
•classroom instruction
• Conferences with students, parents, and colleagues
• Active participation in curriculum development and unit and lesson planning.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university; Master’s Degree preferred.
•Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary license in English Language Arts (5-8)
•SEI Endorsement
•Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents and students
•Effective problem-solving abilities
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Commitment to a growth mindset and the belief that every child can and will learn in a safe and supportive learning environment
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
•Provide learning experiences in the subject area based on the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district standards and requirements
•Monitor and supervise students through effective classroom management
•Promote rigorous standards and high expectations for student achievement
•Utilize instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence to learn
•Effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instruction
•Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate opportunities for learning using a response to intervention (RTI) framework;
•Follow special education plans, 504 plans, and DCAPs to support students with disabilities and tiered intervention needs
•Work with colleagues and families in the best interests of students
•Attend and participate in faculty meetings and other assigned meetings and activities according to school policy
•Maintain professional certification and attend and participate in relevant professional development to stay current on research-based instructional practices
•Use an equity lens in all aspects of professional responsibilities
•Perform other duties that may be assigned by the building principal/assistant principal.
