HQS INSPECTOR
The Atlantic City Housing Authority is seeking to hire a HQS Inspector. The HQS Inspector inspects dwelling units leased or proposed for leasing under the housing voucher program to determine whether the unit complies with HUD’s Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and the contracted Housing Authority Administrative Plan. The Inspector categorizes housing conditions that violate the HQS for required repairs. EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED - Conducts all types of inspections: Initial Inspections, Annual Inspections, Re-Inspections, Complaint Inspections, and Abatement Inspections.
- Collects and transmits data using a hand-held device.
- Reviews schedule and inspection information for upcoming work shift.
- Completes and submits required documents and inspection reports to the main office.
- Completes a monthly inspection log, maintains letters, and provides required documents for HUD Audits.
- Reports to the Section 8 Director.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Any combination equivalent to graduation of high school/vocational degree and one-year experience in general construction and building maintenance work. All inspectors are required to complete the provided classroom, online, and field training and must pass the final HQS certification exam. Candidates that possess a HQS Inspector Certification are preferred. The HQS Inspector must possess a valid NJ drivers’ license. Salary is negotiable. We offer an excellent benefits package.
