Grow your accounting career as a Corporate Accountant (Private Equity & Real Estate) with our client in New York, NY (Hybrid), supporting corporate accounting and accounts payable functions across multiple fund entities. Work closely with Fund Controllers and third-party administrators to manage general ledger activity, expense reporting, and intercompany transactions. Ideal for professionals with experience in public or private accounting and exposure to private equity, real estate, or hedge fund environments.
Responsibilities as the Corporate Accountant:
- Corporate Accounting: Maintain general ledger, prepare journal entries, and assist with financial statements for corporate entities.
- Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices and employee expenses, ensuring timely payments and adherence to internal controls.
- Month-End Close: Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, including accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare internal reports, dashboards, and expense allocations across entities.
- Intercompany Accounting: Reconcile intercompany accounts and assist with capital contributions and distributions.
- Audit & Compliance: Support external audits and assist with tax and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 1-3 years in public or private accounting, preferably within private equity, real estate, or hedge fund environments.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel with preferred experience in accounting systems and general ledger platforms.
- Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented and organized with strong communication and analytical skills, able to manage deadlines and collaborate across teams.
