Your Role
Join Atlas Copco as an Applications Engineer where you will provide solutions for equipment upgrades to customers, allowing for more efficient performance, state-of-the-art features, and replacement of obsolete components for our engineered to order centrifugal compressors. You will also work with Aftermarket Sales to review customer requests and provide proposals that are accurate, timely, and have a well-defined scope of supply. As part of the Aftermarket team, you will report to the Aftermarket Application Team Leader and work with the Engineered Solutions team. This is a hybrid position located in Voorheesville, NY.

Your Role

As part of the Aftermarket team, you will report to the Aftermarket Application Team Leader and work with the Engineered Solutions team. This is a hybrid position located in Voorheesville, NY.
- You will work with internal and external vendors to develop material and labor budgets.
- You will evaluate aerodynamic re-rates/upgrades using propriety engineering software.
- You will use SAP ERP, Enovia PLM, and other internally developed software tools.
- You will work with the control systems upgrade team members to ensure that the full scope of change is reflected in proposals and implemented upgrades.
- You will communicate the technical and commercial aspects of orders received to the project team and internal members.
- You will maintain organized and accessible project records according to Atlas Copco procedures.
- You will maintain status of proposals and "hot" projects and work with sales to close orders.
- You will help develop new upgrade ideas and implementation.
- You hold a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline or have equivalent work experience.
- You understand mechanical engineering principles including thermodynamics, aerodynamics, fluid dynamics, and rotating equipment.
- You can interpret process and instrumentation diagrams and engineering drawings.
- You can travel as need (~5%).
