Who You Are
- Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
- Hold a current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
- Hold a current Occupational Therapist license verifiable within DORA
- Hold a Special Services License through the Colorado Department of Education
- Must be familiar with and understand the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Exceptional Children Education Act (ECEA)
- Have a holistic mindset willing to consider a student’s school and home life
- Possess a self-starter mentality and offer high enthusiasm for student success
What You’ll Do
- Will use purposeful, goal directed activities, and task analysis to allow applicable Atlas Preparatory Students to benefit from their individualized education program (IEP)
- Promote functional independence for effective participation from students within the educational environment
- Services from the Occupational Therapist may be delivered directly to the student, on behalf of the student through consultation with parents and teachers, or through guided modifications, support, and training for relevant school personnel
- Demonstrates exceptional care and knowledge concerned with motor skills, processing skills, mobility, and adaptive equipment
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed
Compensation
- Salary range: $40,000-50,000
Annual Calendar and Start Date
- 6 flex days per year
- Approximately 185 work days per school year
- The ideal candidate will begin in July 2022
