Job Description
Teachers have direct and primary responsibility for a group of children. The responsibilities of this position are in accordance with Minimum Standards for Day Care Centers and are under the supervision of the child care's Head Teacher.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides care and protection for all assigned children.
- Works with Head Teacher to establish flexible daily schedule to meet developmental needs of children.
- Plans, prepares, and carries out daily growth and learning activities for assigned group of children. This includes Individual lesson plans for the infants.
- Relates with and accepts children as they are, working to meet individual needs.
- Assures that children's equipment and supplies are arranged properly and in an orderly manner and are kept in a safe condition.
- Assists children as they develop appropriate habits of eating, napping, etc.
- Keeps attendance records, assures signing in and out of children by parents.
- Participates fully to carry out the center's health program.
- Observes and assesses with Head Teacher, the growth and development of the individual children.
- Works to develop positive relations with parents, encourages parent participation as needed.
- Upgrades performance of duties, through reading and discussion, attending professional meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
- Supports total program of the Auburn Day Care Centers, Inc.
