What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Integrity CAD Lead position at Audubon Companies?
Audubon is currently seeking a Facility Integrity CAD Lead to join our team. The Facility Integrity CAD Lead is responsible for technical leadership, quality control, and workflow development for CAD deliverables supporting Audubon’s Facility Integrity and Engineering programs. This role serves as the primary technical authority for CAD execution, standards, and quality, ensuring consistent, accurate, and efficient delivery of drawings aligned with client requirements, inspection outputs, and Audubon best practices. The Facility Integrity CAD Lead builds and develops a high-performing CAD group, establishes scalable workflows, and acts as the quality gate for all CAD deliverables prior to client issues.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve CAD workflows to support repeatable, scalable delivery of Facility Integrity and engineering deliverables.
- Serve as the primary Quality Control (QC) authority for all CAD deliverables produced by drafters and designers.
- Review, check, and approve drawings for accuracy, constructability, specification compliance, and adherence to Audubon and client standards.
- Establish, maintain, and enforce CAD standards including templates, layering conventions, file structures, revision control, and plotting requirements.
- Build, mentor, and develop a cohesive CAD group through technical guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Coordinate and prioritize CAD workload based on project schedules, scope complexity, and personnel capability.
- Act as the technical escalation point for CAD-related issues, resolving quality concerns and production bottlenecks.
- Produce and support development of piping drawings, inspection-driven deliverables, isometrics, plans, sections, and details.
- Interface with engineering, inspection, project management, and clients to clarify scope, resolve technical issues, and align deliverables.
- Support proposal development through preparation of layouts, sketches, and execution input.
- Maintain awareness of project budgets, schedules, and execution constraints.
- Comply with all Audubon and client HSSE requirements and participate in hazard identification programs.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate’s Degree from a Technical Institution preferred.
- 3–5 years of progressive CAD/drafting experience.
- Experience supporting oil & gas, chemical, refining, pipeline, or Facility Integrity projects required.
- Field experience strongly preferred.
- Advanced AutoCAD proficiency required.
- Strong understanding of piping drawings, specifications, and drafting standards.
- Strong technical judgment and attention to detail.
- Ability to lead without direct authority and influence technical teams.
- Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High accountability for quality and execution.
