What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant position at Audubon Family Veterinary Center?

Audubon Family Veterinary Center is looking for veterinary assistants who are eager to build relationships with our clients and their pets. The ideal candidate would have a passion for delivering excellent veterinary care to the Audubon community pets. Join in providing exceptional veterinary care at our privately owned general veterinary practice located on White Horse Pike in Audubon, NJ. Our services include wellness, sick visits, dentistry and surgery. We offer digital radiographs, digital dental radiographs, an in-house laboratory, and a fully-stocked pharmacy. We work hard to maintain relationships with existing clients as well as focusing on community outreach and reaching new clients. We pride ourselves on client education and our staff ensures that we answer any questions that clients may have during, and after, their visits with us.

Tasks and Responsibilities:·

  • Assisting doctors and technicians with examinations on patients
  • Assisting technicians with treatments (ie: walking dogs, cleaning cages, etc)
  • Ability to properly restrain patients for lab work, exams, and treatments
  • Input of charges and medical record keeping
  • Able to set up and perform radiographs
  • Stocking and cleaning treatment room
  • Sending out lab work and performing in house bloodwork
  • Knowledge of commonly used medications
  • Ensuring our hospital is clean and disinfected
  • Cleaning up after and prepping for surgeries
  • Assists our clients with their check-in & check outs
  • Assist our valued clients with questions and support via face-to-face, phone, chat, and email
  • Assist our clients navigate admitting their pet into our hospital and reviewing financial options, deposits, and expectations.
  • Answer incoming calls, make appointments, and answers client questions
  • Proudly keep the appearance of the hospital (inside and outside)
  • Handles electronic medical records, pet insurance, record request, and faxes

Abilities and Skills

  • 1 years veterinarian hospital experience – IS A PLUS
  • Previous knowledge of Ezyvet operating software – IS A PLUS
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Critical thinking and exceptional resolution/ problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Detail oriented, punctual, and reliable
  • Positive and professional demeanor

Schedule:

  • Full-Time and Part-Time Position
  • Some weekends and evenings are required.
