Position: Quality Inspector/ManufacturingLocation: Westminster, MDPay Rate: $22.00 - $26.00 (depending on experience level)Shift: 1st shiftFull-Time - 8 hours Monday to FridayHours: 6:00am - 2:30pmInterview: In-PersonAbility to Commute to Westminster, MDJob Summary of Quality Inspector:The ideal candidate Inspects product and monitors the manufacturing process according to established standards. Works with the Quality and Operations groups to ensure quality product is shipped to customers on time. Works under the guidance of the Quality Assurance Manager.Job Responsibilities of the Quality Inspector:Conduct inspections and evaluations to identify nonconforming material and equipment.Support the nonconforming material system to implement containment and dispositions.Check whether established control plans are adequate and effective in all phases of production.Assist manufacturing operations to quickly identify, contain and permanently resolve quality issues.Perform internal Quality Management System and process audits.Maintain gage checking and calibration systems.Conduct targeted studies of process capability and gage repeatability/reproducibility.Assist in the improvement of product and service quality by conducting root cause analysis, planning corrective and preventive actions, and verifying the results.Represent the Quality Team as a point of contact for daily production support.Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures.Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.Assist with Operations work cells (Assembly, Fabrication, Machine Shop, Electrical) as needed during work flow schedule constraints.Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.Additional Requirements:Ability to achieve planned results by utilizing organization, prioritization and communication skills within a team environment is required. This includes recognizing internal customer expectations and deciding priorities accordingly.Self-motivated and organized individual with exemplary attention to detailsAbility to interpret mechanical drawings and specifications is required.Ability to understand complex situations, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions is required.Effective written and oral communication skills relative to quality and technical issues is required.Ability to work independently with minimal oversight is required.Ability to reliably report status, performance and results is required.Ability to interpret instructions which may be furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule formWork in a safe professional manner, keeping a clean work area and wearing proper protective equipmentCooperation with supervisor and co-workersAble to work independently to complete individual tasks assigned by a teamShow by example: temperament, professionalism and teamworkTimely arrival and regular attendance at workWilling to work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.Basic level knowledge of MS Word and Excel required, Intermediate level is preferred.Basic level knowledge of MS Outlook is preferred.Have the flexibility to adjust work hours and schedule to support internal and external customer needs, including working on Saturday or Sunday if needed.Must be able to effectively communicate in written and spoken English.Ability to work demanding hours, as necessary, to meet project deadlines.Must exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization.Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and demanding environment with a strong sense of urgency.Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Job Qualifications of the Quality Inspector:Must be United States citizen, lawful permanent resident or otherwise eligible to work in the United StatesAssociate’s degree in a technical discipline is desired.Associate’s degree in Nondestructive Testing (NDT) is preferred.American Society for Quality (ASQ) Quality Technician (CQT) certification is preferred.Ability to work in a team environment and work independently.More than 3 years of experience in a Quality Control or Quality Assurance role preferred.Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial work setting is preferred.Experience with ISO 9001 requirements is preferred.Experience with precision measurement devices and equipment is required.Preferable Qualifications:Other ASQ certifications are desired, such as Quality Inspector, Quality Auditor, Quality Process Analyst, Six Sigma Green Belt, or Quality Improvement Associate.Mechanical Inspector and ASNT (Level II or III) certifications are desired.Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience is desired.Experience with destructive and nondestructive testing methods is preferred.Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) working knowledge, programming capability and optimization is desired.Experience with lean manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) preferred.Training as an ISO 9001 auditor is preferred.Working knowledge and proficiency with SPC, gage R&R, and basic quality tools (check sheets, flow charts, control charts, histograms, and scatter diagrams) is preferred.Key Words: ISO 9001, Mechanical Inspector, Quality Control and Assurance, GD&T, Testing, CMM, lean manufacturing tools, SPC, Gage R&R, Six Sigma Green Belt, NDT,Job Types: Full-time, ContractWork Location: In personCompany DescriptionSince our inception in 1967, Augmentation, Inc. has garnered a large and diversified base of clientele whose need for qualified personnel encompasses a wide field of temporary and permanent technical expertise.
