Company: August Winter & Sons, a leading mechanical contractor in Northeast Wisconsin, has an opening for a Payroll Administrator. We service clients in a variety of industries including: Commercial, Healthcare, and Industrial applications that involve heating, cooling, process, structural and plumbing systems. August Winter & Sons offers a competitive compensation package and has excellent employee retention.

Responsibilities Include:

  • In charge of the weekly union field payroll process, including certified payroll
  • Prepare and send monthly union fringes
  • Maintain payroll employee database
  • Review and implement the payroll provisions of union labor contracts
  • Update accounting software for new union rates (annually)
  • Request wage rates for bidding purposes
  • Process quarterly state unemployment tax filings
  • Maintain foreign corporation registrations for states outside of Wisconsin
  • Provide input to IT department for paperless software and company databases
  • Maintain vacation database
  • Work with Affinity Medical Group to plan and coordinate the annual Wellness Program
  • Provide required information to CPA firm for annual financial statement review
  • Help develop/implement company policies and participate in lean initiatives
  • Work with upper management as required
  • Any other responsibilities that may be assigned

Prerequisites:

  • Ethical
  • Detail oriented with focus on accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Able to enter data quickly and accurately
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Dedicated and organized
  • Bachelor or Associate degree, preferably in accounting
  • Minimum of 1 year of payroll experience, preferably union payroll
  • Construction industry experience a plus
  • Office Hours are 7am – 4pm, Monday through Friday

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
