Full-time Dental Assistant, 1 years of experience (part-time applications will be considered)

We are expanding operations! The Augusta Regional Dental Clinic, a non-profit dental facility located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, is seeking one Dental Assistant to join our team. We provide top quality dental care for uninsured area residents of all ages, as well as individuals enrolled in Virginia Medicaid programs.

The Dental Assistant is responsible for chairside assisting during a wide variety of dental procedures (amalgam and composite fillings, simple and surgical extractions, endodontic treatment, crown and bridge procedures, treatment for pediatric patients as well as patients with special health care needs).

The ideal candidate is a self -starter with impeccable chairside manners who will provide professional, high-quality care to patients with diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Previous work for a nonprofit medical facility is not required. However, applicants must share our values and dedication to top quality, compassionate care for our medically underserved neighbors.

Requirements

  • Dental Assistant experience (at least one year experience mandatory)
  • Virginia X-Ray Certification (mandatory)
  • Commitment to the ARDC mission and values
  • Impeccable chairside manners
  • Fluency in Spanish or any other languages (preferred)
  • Good critical thinking, flexibility, positive attitude, ability to initiate and complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to function in a collaborative manner with staff and others who work as part of our team
  • Ability to work in a fast paced healthcare facility with 45-minute to 1-hour long appointments while treating pediatric, adult and geriatric populations (95% of day)
  • Ability to bend/twist as needed for effective patient management during procedures (50% of day)
  • Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods depending on dental procedure (85% of day)
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds daily while completing stock room tasks (5% of day)
  • Employment will be contingent upon pre-employment background screening

Salary, benefits and perks:

  • 10 hr shift - 4 days per week for a full-time position
  • 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM
  • 1 hr paid lunch break daily
  • Salary starts at $17 and is commensurate with experience
