What are the responsibilities and job description for the ACCT SPEC - PATIENT ACCOUNTS position at Aultman Health Foundation?

Purpose of Position:

  • To accurately apply payments, adjustments to the Healthquest system for Aultman Hospital, Aultman Physicians, and DME.  This person will also be responsible for accurately reporting in excel daily activity of cash. There are daily quotas and goals that must be met.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Excel experience
  • Experience and knowledge with computer systems, related software preferred
  • Multiple software applications are utilized
  • Good typing levels
  • Excellent ten key levels
  • Professional manner and appearance
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure

 

Primary Responsibility:

  • Receive payments from insurance and patients applying them to Healthquest computer system.  Review EOB for accuracy of payments and reporting of any discrepancy.
  • Receive 835 remittance files – balance and correction of any errors that were attained during the process of application.
  • Scanning of explanation of benefits, balance to deposit and completing transmittals to finance to ensure accurate deposits.
  • Evaluate electronic information to determine third party accuracy of payments received. Excel experience needed.
  • Provide professional, efficient, quality customer service in accordance with hospital and department policies and procedures.
  • Receive information from Healthquest to determine patient refunds. Determination of applicable refund and send to patient.
  • Cover cashier and patient payment inquiries when cashier is unavailable.

 

Hours of Operation:

  • Monday through Friday; 8:00a – 4:30p
