What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher position at Auntie Nikki's Daycare?
As a Teacher at Auntie Nikki’s Daycare, you will help young minds explore, discover, and understand the world around them.
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher to plan and implement an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child, in accordance with NM Pre-K Standards approach to teaching and learning.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children.
- Observes all rules and regulations at Auntie Nikki’s Daycare and the local, state, or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety, and care of children.
- Assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
- Completes observations in accordance with NM PreK Standards.
- Develops and implements lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with Auntie Nikki’s Daycare and NM PreK program standards curriculum and programming.
- Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
- Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
- Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Meets educational and experience qualifications established by Auntie Nikki’s Daycare and the New Mexico PreK Standards.
- Actively working on degree for early childhood education.
- At least 18 years of age
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date
- Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
- Previous experience with diverse populations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education.
- Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting.
