What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wedding/Event Closer - Estate Wedding position at Aurora Cellars?
Hours
- Saturday evenings from 6pm-11:30pm
- Occasional Sunday evenings from 6pm-11:30pm
Description
This position is responsible for watching out for guests in distress, over-served guests, reporting cars parked on the road by the farmhouse to the DJ so they can be moved, going over the event timeline with the Venue Logistics Coordinator (and the wedding planner/coordinator if need be), keeping an eye on the weather, maintaining the integrity of the property and restrooms, and be present to assist guests if a situation arises throughout or after the event, or they have questions about the event or property.
Duties
- Please arrive on time & in Aurora Cellars Attire with a smile
- Check in with your manager for an assessment of the event, weather & any observations relevant to the evening.
- Familiarize yourself with the evenings wine selections
- Your manager will introduce you to the hired coordinator/planner
- Your manager will introduce you to the DJ/Band, reminding them of the 10:30pm last call with music ended promptly at 11:00pm, no exceptions
- Your manager will also introduce you to the bartending staff, reminding them to be prepared for the 10:30pm last call & their trash removal.
- Familiarize yourself with the timeline of events
- Make yourself visible to guests & assist them with any iPad wine purchases
- Restroom maintenance- check every 2 hrs. wiping down the counter, empty trash, replacing toilet paper & clean toilet seats with sanitizing wipes, supplies & gloves are located in the storage barn.
- Start the bonfire per timeline instructions
- Light torches at dusk
- Monitor tent heat/heat towers if needed
- In the event of broken glass on the dance floor, tent, bar areas or lawn, please be prompt with that removal & use caution.
- Periodic checks to ensure no cars are parked on Horn Rd. If so, please give make, model & license number to the DJ for an announcement. All vehicles must be parked in the lot provided off of Aurora’s main entrance unless they are guests
- Make sure DJ is announcing Shuttle departures
- Check with the coordinator to see if additional firewood is needed for after the event.
- After the event, you may leave once the guest number is down to 30.
- Leave all lights on
