Aurora Plains Academy is an intensive residential treatment facility located in Plankinton, South Dakota. Aurora Plains Academy was established in January 2007. Treatment areas for the residents at the Academy may include mental illness, emotional problems, conduct problems, learning problems, chemical abuse problems, sexual abuse/offender issues, and peer and family problems.
We are seeking sharp, principled, passionate, motivated, team players to assist our residents in meeting their treatment goals.
Location: This is not a remote position. Candidates are required to work on-site in Plankinton, South Dakota. Must be willing to commute.
Behavioral Health Therapist Role: We seek enthusiastic individuals with a desire to work with youth in residential care who present with complex mental and behavioral health conditions. The therapist will be responsible for the completion of assessments and providing individual, group, and family therapy services. We are looking for those who enjoy engaging with youth, parents, and those who refer for our services. Be a part of our team as we continue to grow!
Behavioral Health Therapist Commitment: This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position. Scheduling may require some flexibility in order to support youth and program needs.
Behavioral Health Therapist Education/Professional Licenses:
- A master’s degree in counseling from an accredited social work program OR BA in social work plus 5 years of experience and able to get ASW
- Special consideration given to candidates with previous work history in the PRTF (Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility), IRT (Intensive Residential Treatment) or RCC (Residential Care Center) settings
- Formal trauma-informed care training/experience highly desired
- Must not have on record a substantiated report of abuse or neglect.
Behavioral Health Therapist Compensation: $59,000-$77,000 depending on qualifications and experience. **Sign-on Bonus**
