We are seeking a seasoned leader for Global Raw Materials. This position will report to the Head of Global Procurement. The leadership role supports building dynamic Category Strategies focused on optimizing Aurorium' s competitive advantage. Requires a strong focus on building supplier relationships that result in collaborative innovation. The ideal candidates will be a strong leader that can deliver results.
Role Specific Responsibilities: Commodities and projects:
Lead the development and execution of unique Category Strategies that optimize Aurorium' s market position.
Understand and analyze cost and market drivers.
Develop collaborative working relationships with the commercial team to bring suppliers forward who can support innovation into new product lines.
Keep team focused on building supplier portfolio's supplying major raw material requirements aligned with the Category Strategies.
Drive alternative sourcing to reduce single and sole sourcing
Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
Monitor commodity market trends and provide ongoing data to the commercial teams
Support New Product Development Sourcing Efforts
Compliance:
Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements
Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly
Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times
Problem Solving and Innovation:
Active participation in continuous improvement activities
Participates in problem-solving
Takes responsibility and ownership for own learning and development in the spirit of continuous improvement of both self and the business
Assists in the training, mentoring, and assessment of other team members
Exercises autonomy and judgement subject to overall direction or guidance
Education and Qualifications:
Engineering or technical Bachelor's Degree
Experience
7-10 years' experience in Procurement. Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is preferred
Chemical raw material background
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience in negotiating agreements/contracts with a solid understanding of legal and commercial terms and conditions
Toller management experience is a plus
Strong communication and analytical skills
Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and matrix organization
Working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office
A change agent with knowledge of process improvement (e.g., Six Sigma, MRP, others)
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
Ability to adjust to the fast-moving working environment, handling multiple competing goals and objectives.
