Job Description – Mechanical Assembler

The Mechanical Assembler position is responsible for building and troubleshooting automated cleaning equipment.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting other team members in the manufacturing of automated cleaning equipment. This includes mechanical assembly, as well as operation and final testing of completed equipment. The Mechanical Assembler will work building machinery mechanical systems to include stainless steel plumbing (cutting, bending, welding), poly-pro plumbing, fittings, and operating equipment used in production and fabrication.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

  • Perform general mechanical assembly of automated cleaning machines.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of fluid delivery systems.
  • Work independently to complete the mechanical components of automated equipment
  • Complete assembly of plastic and stainless-steel plumbing using a fab drawing.
  • Familiar with the tools necessary for bending, threading, cutting, and welding metal and plastic tubing
  • Rebuilding and refurbishment of used equipment.
  • Perform quality inspections of finished equipment using a written check sheet.
  • Learn various entry level positions and cross train in other areas of the plant as needed.
  • Responsible for work area safety.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment including machine lifts and forklift, in a safe manner.
  • Perform all assigned work adhering to Company and governmental safety rules and regulation and follow company lock out tag out procedures.
  • Report any potential operational or safety problems to management.
  • All other duties as assigned

ATTRIBUTES:

  • Industrial background with good troubleshooting skills.
  • Previous experience building/operating automated equipment is desired.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations is required.
  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week and be flexible to schedule changes, including overtime.
  • Plastics and metal welding skills are desired, but not required.
  • Tolerate of working inside an industrial manufacturing environment with noise and dust.
  • Effectively communicate and interact with supervisors, managers, and peers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND GENERAL WORK EXPERIENCE INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Work 40 hours 5 days per week 7am to 4pm
  • Must be physically able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Working in an industrial environment with limited heating and A/C controls
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • Fabrication of metal or plastic assemblies.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as work orders, mechanical drawings, safety rules, standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Knowledgeable of current environmental regulations and practices as they relate to the manufacturing industry.
  • Must perform all tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Required Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
