Feeder Operator

We provide enhanced graphics, custom formulated inks, hot stamping, embossing and silk-screening techniques to create distinctive packages with high visual appeal for the top brands around the world. We currently employ about 133 employees between two shifts, most of which work four-day work weeks.

Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Retrieve printing plates from platemaking department to the press for installation.
• Assist with install of printing plates, packing sheets, packing blankets and inks.
• Ensure paper is loaded in to feeders for running jobs, as well as maintain paper supply throughout the job run.
• Provide basic assistance to Press Operator as needed to prepare press make-ready.
• Adjust press machine parts of the feeder and delivery system.
• Perform routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
• Remove and recycle old/discarded plates.
• Read job bag to ensure they have the proper materials staged for each machine.
• Produce high quality work meeting established production standards.
• Chemicals used must be properly labeled at all times.
• Cross-train to gain ability to feed other presses as needed.
• Keep area clean and organized. Empty trash bins, sweep around the machine, pick up empty pallets around printing department and take them to the proper location.
• Performs other job duties as assigned by management or lead person.
• Consistently attentive to quality throughout manufacturing process.

Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High school education or GED required.
• Knowledge of and experience in operating a hand jack.
• Basic mechanical aptitude/skills.
• Proficient level of English – Verbal & Written.
• Ability to read and understand a Job Bag.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must be available as necessary to work overtime.
• Excellent manual dexterity.
• Demonstrate initiative in problem solving.
• Must be attentive to detail and have excellent organizational skills.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive manual tasks with frequent rotations.
• Must be able to comprehend and follow all job procedures and safety protocols.

• Compensation: $18-$23 per hour, (based on experience)
