Position summary
The Program Manger is responsible for executing flawless launch of new programs awarded to ASPC. The Program Manager will need to lead cross functional teams through the launch process to achieve the launch objectives by the target dates and within budget costs. This position requires excellent people and leadership skills. Launch success is directly related to the Program Managers ability to lead the cross functional team through the launch process.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Manage new launches beginning with receipt of PO, through safe launch activities.
Manage changes to existing programs either pre or post PPAP.
Lead and manage cross functional teams to ensure flawless launch.
Communicate the status of all assigned launches weekly to the Program Launch Manager and launch team.
Always seek options to improve all processes and lead actions to implement them.
Be the primary point of contact for customers and suppliers throughout the launch process.
Lead teams through formal problem resolution with respect to issues that may arise during the launch process.
Implement cost savings ideas that present themselves during the launch process.
Able to travel to customer or supplier locations to review and address any launch issues. Sometimes on short notice.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from 4-year college or university is preferred. Candidates with exceptional related skills, experience and/or training will be considered.
Ability to lead groups through the launch process without having direct authority over them.
Excellent communication skills.
Background in metals or manufacturing is preferred.
Strong computer literacy.
Must exhibit attention to detail.
Must have a continuous improvement mindset.
Must be able to thrive when working in a team environment.
