Prior Authorization Specialist - Responsibilities:
The Prior Authorization Specialist manages the pre-certification and prior authorization of referrals scheduled for admission to our skilled nursing facilities.
- Obtain timely authorizations for all patients requiring pre-certification
- Review clinical information to determine eligibility and accurate reimbursement rates for skilled nursing care
- Communicate denials and appeal information to admission teams and referral sources
- Document all communications thoroughly throughout the day
- Handle high volume of incoming calls and emails
- Develop relationships that increase and stabilize conversion
