What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant - Accounts Receivable position at AVA Companies?
AVA Pork Products, a leading manufacturer & distributor for quality beef & pork is currently seeking a fulltime Accounts Receivable Associate.
Responsibilities:
- Contact clients to resolve outstanding balances and maintain an open line of communication during the collection process.
- Maintain all account and client detail information accurately in our database system; including status updates and contact attempts.
- Maintain high level of proficiency in working with Excel.
- Prepare AR aging report & filing.
- Maintain cash receipts journal and reconcile sub-ledger to the G/L.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Manager.
Job Qualifications:
- A minimum of five (5) years professional experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or other degree required.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Knowledge with S2K – AS400 Operating System
- Work well with others & follow direction.
- Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task & prioritize.
- Proven & successful track record in reducing company’s DSO (Days Sales Outstanding).
- Clear understanding of collections due process.
