Avalon School of Music is a growing music school, and we have an opening for a talented piano instructor to join our team. We're looking for a piano instructor who can teach all ages of students, from about 6 years old, through to adults, but the focus of this position will be teaching younger students who are beginners to intermediate level. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching all ages of students, and excellent teaching and communication skills. We teach private 1-1 lessons, and each instructor has their own private studio. We recommend that each teacher tailor the instruction materials for each student, and focus the lessons in the areas that the student needs help with.

Requirements:
We prefer some teaching experience, and a music degree is ideal. You may substitute playing / performing experience for a degree, but we're looking for a good working knowledge of music theory & sight reading, and be able to demonstrate your technical skills. We highly value great communications skills, and the ability to make the lessons fun for the students. You will be asked to sight read some sample music during the interview process.
We're currently growing, and would like an instructor who can teach on some or all of the following days:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday

Pay rate is $28-33 per hour DOE.
This is a 1099 contractor position.
