POSITION SUMMARY
The AvantGarde, LLC Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Consultant works within the Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI) to assist the Chief Diversity Officer with developing the strategic direction, implementation, and alignment of USCP’s diversity and equity initiatives and programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assessment and Analysis: Assess organizational needs related to diversity, equity, inclusion and employee engagement. Create surveys designed to elicit workforce feedback and determine if identified issues are systemic versus individual.
- Strategy Development: Work with all grades/ranks as it relates to their bureau, office, or team to provide organizational and employee surveys, including other information gathering processes. Provide consulting services to office directors and bureau commanders based on the information received.
- Policy Review and Recommendations: Provide recommended solutions designed to mitigate issues resulting from the findings with management officials to ensure that interventions can be implemented Departmentwide. Analyze and review USCP policies and/or activities affecting diversity and inclusion providing an assessment on how USCP leverages and integrates diversity to improve overall performance into Human Resources (HR) policies and mission-related operating procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years’ experience with extensive knowledge of DEI and/or cultural competencies
- At least 3 years’ experience in data analytics to measure process improvements and policy effectiveness
- Capable to motivate cross-functional stakeholders internally and externally toward desirable outcomes
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills to senior leaders and executives to inform, guide and advise on strategic strategies.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and to work both independently and as a member of a team
- Ability to develop, implement and iterate on process to increase operational effectiveness
