What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant position at Avenue Dental?
Avenue Dental is a modern dental office located in West Town, Chicago.
We are looking for an experienced dental assistant to join our team and grow with the practice. Candidate can be trained on the job.
Candidate should be caring, outgoing, energetic and motivated with strong desire and capability to learn new technology and to be cross-trained. Pay is dependent on experience with bonus and retire account contributions over time.
Skills/ Experience Desired in: Eaglesoft, customer service, taking and pouring up impressions, charting, digital x-rays, Invisalign, setting up and breaking down operatories
Ability to quickly learn, multi task and be a team player is a must.
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Update and maintain patient dental records
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns

- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant preferred
- Proficiency in medical coding and billing procedures
- Experience with digital imaging and taking dental x-rays
- Familiarity with Dentrix or Eaglesoft practice management systems
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team environment. They should also have a strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology.
