Job Summary:
As a Property Assessment Technician, you will be a key representative on the ground, ensuring our rental properties are functional, well-maintained, and market-ready. You will perform light handyperson tasks, capture marketing content, and conduct detailed property inspections to identify and address issues before they become major problems. This role is a perfect blend of hands-on work and technology, ideal for someone with the mindset of a home inspector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as securing loose door handles, replacing furnace filters, and placing lockboxes.
- Conduct thorough, independent inspections of residential properties to identify maintenance needs, repair issues, and potential code violations.
- Utilize technology, including 3D rendering platforms like Matterport, specialized apps, and cameras to meticulously document all findings and capture marketing photos/virtual tours.
- Meet inspectors, residents, or contractors on-site to provide access and updates.
- Maintain detailed notes on tasks completed and property conditions.
- Assist with light interior and curb appeal improvements as needed to ensure properties are clean and presentable for showings.
- Translate on-site observations into clear, professional reports for project managers and the team.
- Stay updated on best practices in property inspection, residential construction, and technology.
Qualifications:
- Proven knowledge of residential construction and property systems (e.g., plumbing, electrical, structural, HVAC). Experience as a home inspector or in a related field is a strong plus.
- Experience with light handyperson work or general property upkeep.
- A genuine passion for and proficiency with technology. Must be comfortable learning and using new apps and digital tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.
- Strong time management and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and problem-solve on the go.
- A professional demeanor when interacting with residents, contractors, inspectors, or team members.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
