What are the responsibilities and job description for the Poultry Vaccination Technician position at Aviagen?

- Work with day old chicks
- Will be required to collect birds for moving, weighing, and vaccinations
- Must be able to work with live animals and the associated environment
- Collect blood samples, band/tag or remove tags from birds
- Must follow Animal Care Standards, Animal Welfare Guidelines, and Bio-Security polies and procedures
- Ability to work with chemicals such as detergents, disinfects, etc.
- Must perform essential duties in a safe and efficient manner as trained
- Must be able to be around farm related smells or odors and loud/noisy environment
- May work up to 6 days a week, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to understand oral and written instructions and perform simple task
- Ability to perform work that is repetitive in nature
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to grip, grasp, or twist using hands and wrist
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50lbs
- Bend and stoop throughout the shift
- Animal husbandry experience preferred but not required.
Salary : $31,100 - $39,300
