Description
As the Radar Systems Engineer, you will support requirements generation, perform engineering design trade studies, draft engineering documentation and artifacts, and assist in the acquisition of future Radar variants. This position will be based at NAS Patuxent River, MD; some telework will be allowed.
The Radar Systems Engineer will also:
- Participate in requirements generation, including performing traceability to the Performance Based Subsystem Specification (PBSS)
- Develop Systems Engineering Plans, Requirements Management Plans, and Requirements Validation/Verification plans
- Write and/or contribute to Engineering Change Proposals/Technical Directive development, approval, and implementation
- Review and monitor the development of relevant engineering documentation and artifacts
- Perform system integration configuration management and/or acquisition and resource management
- Provide input and tracking of Radar engineering critical path to the program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)/Roadmap
- Coordinate GFE engineering and Prime Contractor engineering efforts
- Facilitate meetings, take minutes, track schedules, and oversee engineering risk management
- Present necessary information to stakeholders within the NAVAIR program office environment
- Lead TAE/SME coordination for requirements verification, including ground and flight-testing data requirements
- Support production and quality assessments of in-production subsystems
Requirements
Who you are:
The following education and experience are required:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering or a related STEM discipline is required
- 3 years of related systems engineering experience
- At least 1 year of experience working with NAVAIR
- Requires the ability to travel approximately 10% of the time
- Effective and professional communication skills are required, along with the ability to build and sustain relationships with team members and the government customer
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work with limited supervision
Security Clearance Requirements:
- This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
