Powering Possibilities: Leading the Digital Evolution of Avidyne

At Avidyne, we’re not just building technology—we’re redefining the future of avionics. As our Director of IT, you’ll be at the forefront of driving the digital transformation of electronics on aircraft flight decks. By ensuring our IT infrastructure not only supports but accelerates innovation in avionics development and manufacturing, you will be instrumental in advancing our business to new heights.

This isn’t just another IT job—it’s your chance to step into a larger program management and strategic leadership role, where you’ll leverage technology to unlock new possibilities and directly impact the success of Avidyne. From optimizing enterprise systems across multiple sites to advancing cloud strategies and cybersecurity, you’ll enable our teams to push the boundaries of what’s possible in aviation technology.

If you’re a visionary problem-solver with 5-10 years of IT experience and ready to elevate your career, we want to hear from you. Join us in leading strategic initiatives that drive growth and innovation in an environment that values innovation, agility, and growth.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Assess & Strategize: Evaluate our current IT infrastructure to develop and execute a detailed, multi-year roadmap for growth and improvement.
  • Lead Technology Transformation: Drive key initiatives, including system upgrades, cloud migrations, and the implementation of innovative technologies that support long-term success.
  • Oversee Daily Operations: Ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of day-to-day multisite IT systems (cloud and on-prem) and processes, addressing issues quickly and proactively.
  • Manage Vendor Partnerships: Build strong relationships with external vendors and service providers to deliver high-quality solutions for both strategic projects and ongoing operational needs.
  • Secure & Compliant: Maintain robust cybersecurity measures and ensure compliance with industry and customer standards and regulations (e.g., NIST / ISO 27001).
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with non-technical stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into actionable insights to drive business objectives.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Experience: 5-10 years of progressive IT experience, including broad expertise in infrastructure, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, and project portfolio management. Experience in successfully transitioning one or more complex IT systems is required.
  • Key Skills: Strategic planning, budgeting, overseeing day-to-day IT operations, risk management (e.g. disaster recovery, cybersecurity), and program management.
  • Proficiency with Essential Tools: Proven experience managing multisite system implementations across Windows, MacOS, and Linux environments, as well as overseeing key software systems, including ERP, CRM, requirements management, CAD, electronic design automation, product lifecycle management, configuration management/version control, and issue tracking/project management.
  • Mindset: A proactive, results-driven professional who takes initiative and thrives in a dynamic environment.
  • Communication: Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and build strong relationships across teams.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of managing complex projects and driving technology initiatives that align with business goals.
  • Preferred: Pilot's license, flight training, or familiarity with general aviation.

WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT HERE:

  • Impactful Role: Be a key player in shaping the future of IT for a growing, dynamic company.
  • Ownership & Growth: Take on a leadership role, driving both strategic projects and day-to-day operations.
  • Collaborative Culture: Work in an environment that values innovation, teamwork, and respect.
  • Exciting Challenges: Lead transformative initiatives while maintaining the stability of critical IT services.
