Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for a Fixed Wing Direct Support Engineer to support the Fixed Wing PO. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
- Support the Technical Division within the U.S. Army Fixed-Wing Project Office (FWPO) as a Direct Support Engineer (DSE) for Special Electronic Mission Aircraft (SEMA).
- Identify and coordinate the need for additional support from other elements within the FWPO Technical team.
- Work with the Systems Readiness Directorate (SRD) to address airworthiness impacts to the program and facilitate the issuance of Airworthiness Releases (AWRs).
- Implement the system engineering processes and manage all technical facets of their assigned platforms.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
- BS in Engineering is preferred but not required if the applicant has experience working in aviation design and integration fields.
- 10 years of experience with a bachelors degree or 20 years without.
- Will require experience with identifying and resolving problems (qualitative and quantitative), developing, and recommending course of action plans, and must be knowledgeable with the SRD and Federal Aviation Administration airworthiness processes.
- It is essential that the applicant can perform as a team member and develop a path forward to resolve problems on complex systems, communicate well both orally and in writing, and brief at the Integrated Product Team, System Safety Working Group, and Senior Leadership level.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office toolset (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Must be a US Citizen and have/able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ISR systems integration and/or aviation experience is strongly desired.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to self-start and work independently.
