What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Assistant position at Aviva Health?
Under the direct supervision of the Logistics Manager, this position is responsible for assisting with courier, inventory duties as well as purchasing and receiving. The assistant will be a backup courier for all facilities. The Courier is responsible for providing a timely and accurate routine to transport supply deliveries and/or emergency medication to all Aviva Health facilities. Duties will also include helping the purchasing tech and to run supplies as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Count and track supplies, materials, equipment parts, and current supplies in stock.
- Report discrepancies between physical counts and computer records.
- Develop and improve inventory management procedures.
- Stock and distribute supplies and equipment.
- Support with equipment repair and vendor coordination.
- Assist with inventory and utilization reports.
- Assist with procurement of supplies.
- Assist with department moves and ensure all departments have proper equipment/furniture.
- Back up Courier as needed to deliver to Aviva Health facilities on a routine and/or emergency basis.
- Back up purchasing and receiving on a routine and/or emergency basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Logistics Manager and Logistics Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Associates degree in Purchasing/Inventory or 4 years equivalent work experience preferred.
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions.
- Ability to operate inventory/purchasing software.
- Detail orientated.
- Current and valid Oregon Driver’s license.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to perform the following physical requirements:
- Remain in a stationary position 20% of the day to perform administrative duties.
- Move or traverse 80% of the day throughout the office, warehouse, and worksite.
- Operate equipment 30% of the day: computer and other office equipment, ladders, and other basic maintenance equipment (screwdrivers, electric drills, etc.) when assisting with office and department moves.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and accurately so others will understand; ability to interact with patients and staff clearly.
- Able to move or transport up to 50 pounds when assisting with office and department moves.
- Work indoors in heat-controlled environment 80% of the day but may periodically involve exposure to weather elements while outdoors.
- OSHA Exposure Category – Category #2: The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
- In-person work during normal business hours, with occasional night or weekend work.
- May be on-call to fill in for courier.
- Travel and use of company vehicle.
