YOUR ROLE:
As a Staff Accountant, you will be a vital contributor to Avivo’s financial integrity and success. You’ll manage key accounting functions, such as preparing reconciliations, overseeing balance sheets, and leading month-end closing activities. Beyond ensuring compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to create efficiencies, challenge processes, and promote financial excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Preparing and posting monthly general ledger entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
- Leading month-end close processes and compiling financial reports.
- Managing daily cash activities and accounts receivable for efficient cash flow planning.
- Acting as a key resource for credit card expense coding and reconciliation.
- Supporting program teams with financial needs and resolving account discrepancies.
- Assisting with audits, accounts payable reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promoting Avivo’s commitment to equity, undoing racism, and reducing disparities.
Qualifications
WHAT YOU OFFER:
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Management (or an associate degree with 2 years of experience).
- At least 3 years of hands-on accounting experience, including general ledger, reconciliations, and accounts receivable/payable.
- Proficiency in GAAP, month-end close processes, and advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPS).
- A solution-oriented mindset with critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact with diverse teams and program participants.

Salary : $57,040 - $71,300
