Summary Statement:
The Engineering Technician, under the supervision and direction of the Hardware Design Services Supervisor, performs a wide variety of technical support tasks involving circuit design, prototype build, design validation, design qualification, and manufacturing test for the Engineering Group. The level II Engineering Technician will use a variety of T&M Equipment and software applications to complete these support tasks. The level II Engineering Technician will adhere to all Documentation Control related practices, work procedures and policies as defined by Documentation Control Specialist and Engineering Management.
Essential Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Electronic circuit prototype component procurement, assembly & functional verification.
- Board assembly programming, circuit testing, and modification implementation.
- Assistance with execution of in-house or out-house product design Qualification testing: EMI/EMC, Safety, Drop, Shock, Water Ingress, etc.
- Build and functional verification/validation of board and product subassembly test fixtures.
- Creation & Validation of Manufacturing and/or Service Center method sheet documentation.
- Manufacturing production support: test fixture or product failure circuit troubleshooting.
- Service Center support: test fixture or product failure/repair circuit troubleshooting & analysis.
- Participation in accuracy validation of product structure BOMs & assembly documentation during, prototype subassembly and product assembly builds.
- Create & Submit Engineering Changes (ECNs) as recommended by the Hardware Design Services Leader and/or Project Leaders.
- Participation in coordination and execution of Product Development Stage Gate process.
- Follow Documentation Control policies and practices.
- Recommend and Document performance improvements to established procedures/work instructions.
- Maintain expected progress of jobs in area of assignment and communicate problem areas.
- Participate in project team meetings to define, plan, detail project execution actions.
- Demonstrate good housekeeping and safety procedure adherence by keeping equipment, tools and work area clean and orderly.
- Handle materials in accordance with established procedures.
- Works under general supervision
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skill Sets and Competencies:
- Associates degree (IE, ET, other). Directly applicable work experience may replace degree.
- Four years’ or more experience as an Engineering Technician with complex electronic products.
- Above Average working knowledge reading schematics & troubleshooting circuits: Analog, Digital, Power Supply, and High Voltage.
- Demonstrated Experience handling/testing High Voltage (HV) circuits. Ability to adhere to HV Safe Handling practices.
- Skilled Knowledge using Test & Measurement Equipment in circuit testing/troubleshooting: Power Supplies, Signal Generators, Multi-Meters, O-Scopes, Data Loggers, Temp Chambers, etc.
- Above Average skill using hand tools in electronic board assembly & repair: soldering irons, solder suckers, heat guns, etc.
- Knowledge/Average skill in mechanical part prototype fabrication and/or modifications using basic hand or benchtop fabrication tools: files, drills, saws, breaks, etc.
- Ability/Willingness to train more junior technicians within the manufacturing & engineering disciplines.
- Average proficiency with Microsoft Office: Excel and Word.
- Attention to detail mentality and appreciation of project deadlines is essential.
Additional Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Basic working knowledge in contributing to the selection/substitution of electronic components.
- Ability to work effectively independently as well as within small teams.
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task with demonstrated ability to get things done.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.

Salary : $56,800 - $72,000
