Company Description
Awesome Inc exists to help people pursue their definition of Awesome. We do this through investing in, and helping grow high-tech startups throughout the state of Kentucky. We specialize in software development, web development training for youth and adults, we offer a 12-month Fellowship program to help startups scale, and provide custom software solutions through our sister company, APAX Software. We work downtown in our 18,000 sq ft co-working space. We believe in building community around technology and entrepreneurship.
Our Internship Program (Team Alpha)
Team Alpha is our internship program and an integral part in helping us make Lexington, KY a better place to live and work. We want you to bring your passion, curiosity, determination, and healthy disregard of the fear of failure so we can grow the tech and startup ecosystem.
This is an unpaid internship, but you will gain valuable experience, receive an infinite amount of Oreos, and build a network to help with your future career steps. We truly believe that our interns are better set up for success than any other internship program.
We have three unique cohorts a year:
• Spring – Onboarding starts the week after most colleges start (mid-late January)
• Summer – Onboarding starts the final week of May
• Fall – Onboarding takes place the days following Labor Day
Who We’re Looking For:
Our interns range from late high school students to recent college grads. Interns produce an extensive portfolio of work during a 15-20 week internship in Lexington, KY. Team Alpha members create compelling videos to tell entrepreneurs’ stories, build web applications that improve processes and efficiency, bring people together through community events, and design visual branding for our initiatives.
Venture Intern
Are you passionate about venture capital, startups, and the world of finance? As a Venture Intern with a focus on CRM management, you’ll play a critical role in helping us find, engage, and track high-potential startups while gaining hands-on experience with industry tools like ZOHO CRM (experience preferred, but not required). You’ll assist in managing our pipeline, researching potential investments, and writing one-pagers for companies. You’ll also work on industry analysis and market research, building the skills and connections necessary for a future in venture capital, finance, or startup ecosystems.
Responsibilities:
• CRM Management: Help build out, maintain, and optimize our CRM system (experience with ZOHO CRM is a plus).
• Deal Sourcing: Research and identify promising startups and industries.
• Company Analysis: Assist with writing company profiles and one-pagers for investment opportunities.
• Market Research: Conduct research on emerging industries, market trends, and startup ecosystems.
• Collaboration: Work alongside our team to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
