Job Description

Under the general direction of the Sr. Manager of Practice Support, the Litigation Technology & Records Analyst is responsible for supporting multiple areas of the Firm, including litigation support, eDiscovery, case file administration and data management. Though this position is managed within Practice Support, the incumbent will work across various departments including Lit Support, eDiscovery, IT and Data Protection, based on specific tasks and operational need. More specifically, this position is responsible for the following:

Litigation & eDiscovery Support

  • Manages in-house eDiscovery databases and provides recommendations on new in-house technology
  • Advises, manages, and supports Axinn’s managed service providers related to eDiscovery and Lit Support
  • Handles document processing, hosting, and productions for in-house eDiscovery needs
  • Manages and assists with large file downloads and transfers
  • Manages both physical data and electronic case data and advises users on access/use
  • Researches and recommends new technology and service options based on industry trends related to litigation, eDiscovery and data management
  • Provide training to end-users on various in-house litigation and eDiscovery tools
  • Deciphers and manages unusual file types, determining best handling methods

Data Systems and Records Management

  • Works with Axinn’s legal, compliance, and practice support teams on administrative tasks related to data access, system permissioning, and case management processes
  • Assists with the management of certain data sources pursuant to various firm policies
  • Collaborates with Axinn’s legal team on data retention and record disposition
  • Assists in the implementation of programs and policies related to the storage, use, and access to various platforms and data sets
  • Coordinates the creation, maintenance, retrieval, protection, retention, and destruction of records in accordance with Axinn’s policies
  • Participates in development of training materials related to data management
  • Provide Document Management (DM) end user support as needed

Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • BA/BS degree preferred, with at least 3 years of litigation support and eDiscovery experience required. At least 5 years preferred.
  • Strong technical aptitude and computer skills, and ability to quickly learn technology and data systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously and manage multiple projects while prioritizing assignments
  • Ability to build rapport with attorneys, professional staff, and vendors
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience with Relativity, Opus, iConect, Relativity, CaseMap, TextMap preferred
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently but within a team environment
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving skills, along with the demonstrated ability to be a change/thought leader within the organization

Position Details

This is a full-time, benefits eligible, non-exempt level position. Final rate of pay will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, with a targeted hiring range of $38.00 – $45.00 per hour for CT candidates and $40.00 – $48.00 per hour for DC/NYC candidates (the upper range reserved for highly qualified applicants). This position is currently available in our DC, CT and NYC office location only and relocation is not provided for this role.
