Broad Scope of the Position
This is a grant-funded position for the 2024-2025 school year. This position is the coordinator of the behavior, intervention, and assessment (BIA) team.
Behavior (70%)
- Respond and support BIA team response to behavior incidents following the AXIS behavior flow chart and protocol. Manage behavior on call schedule.
- Manage the behavior response protocol from response to incident closure, including team meetings with parent(s), and documentation completion.
- Manage the Grade Level B-MTSS tracking data sheets (Behavior). Collaborate with grade levels to share behavior updates and facilitate behavior problem solving conversations.
- Set and facilitate meetings (and the meeting process) to create behavior MTSS plans and support the team in managing the plans.
- Collaborate with the Head of School and program leaders on behavior needs and meetings.
- Work with the program leaders to communicate behavior needs and teacher concerns across the school and across classrooms so program leaders can support teachers with strategies and skills.
- Serve as the initial point person for staff and parents regarding questions about the behavior protocol and plan process.
- Directly provide and manage interventionists on behavior interventions beyond response, for example may include common MTSS tier 2 behavior strategies such as check in check out (CICO), social and behavior skills teaching at the individual and group level, facilitation of RULER tools such as metamoment and blueprint conferences, and other evidence-based practices.
- Conduct behavior inquiries, observe students, and gather additional information to inform tier 1, tier 2 student behavior plans (similar to a modified Behavior Intervention Plan). Collaborate with the School Psychologist, and Special Education Specialist(s) as necessary. when a full Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Intervention Plan are warranted as determined by the team.
Intervention (10%)
- Support program leaders with the consistency and coordination of the overall intervention schedule, plan, and interventionists.
- Coordinate interventionists and special education specialists on the AXIS plan calendar, a school-wide calendar set by the leadership team on the scheduling and case management of all student plans.
Assessment (10%; seasonal)
- AXIS leadership team will set the assessment calendar for the year and a program leader is delegated as the “district assessment coordinator.”
- This role will conduct duties consistent with local “school assessment coordinator” duties and coordinate members of the BIA team to follow this calendar and corresponding assessment duties.
Teamwork, Leadership, and Other Duties as assigned (~10%)
- Check in regularly with Leadership Team delegate and meet weekly for S in AXIS meetings.
- Support other needs as directed by the Leadership Team
Requirements
Required Experience
- At least 2 years of experience in behavior response or intervention with measurable results;
- A Bachelor's degree;
- Eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship;
Preferred Experience
- Experience leading a team and other leadership duties;
- Experience at a high-performing school, charter, or private school, is preferred.
- Bilingual or interest in bilingual education;
