What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor position at Azleway, Inc.?
1. Requires a valid Texas Driver’s License, appropriate driving record and auto
liability insurance that meets the minimum required by State of Texas statute.
2. Mental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position.
3. Knowledge of substance abuse, family systems, youth issues preferred.
4. Prefer Bachelors Degree in Health Education, Psychology, or other Human
Services. Must have active licensure as an LCDC.
5. Preferred (2) years experience in the human services field.
6. Must be willing to work a flex schedule that may include weekends and evenings when necessary.
7. Must have reliable transportation.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position will counsel and aid individuals and families requiring assistance dealing with substance abuse problems. Interviews clients, reviews records, performs assessments and screenings, and confers with other professionals to evaluate condition of the client. Position counsels clients individually or in group sessions to assist client in overcoming chemical dependency or abuse. Position provides skills training and modeling for clients. Position requires exceptional written and oral communication skills. Must be able to adhere to procedures while working in an independent environment. Ability to follow through on all projects is a must. Must be a self-starter. Excellent documentation skills a must. Must be able to manage negative behavior in a positive manner and communicate with clients in an appropriate, understandable, non-judgmental and non-threatening manner. Must have good oral and written communication skills. Must be able to keep up-to-date and factual documentation relating to all aspects of program including; client files, incident reports, daily logs, van logs, communication logs, medication logs.
