Production Worker

SUMMARY

Drives gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials by performing the following duties.

DUTIES

Essential Duties: These duties directly and substantially serve to achieve the purpose of the position.

1. Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.

2. Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transports load to designated area.

3. Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.

4. Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed.

5. Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.

6. Loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device.

7. Lubricates truck, recharges batteries, fills fuel tank, or replaces liquefied gas tank.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (All requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with a disability)

Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and 10 to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Constant walking, frequently climbing ladders, stairs, etc.

Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid or windy conditions caused by the weather. Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds of a pitch or level sufficient to require hearing protection. Exposure to constant or intermittent dusty area.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent of education and experience.
