Key Responsibilities
- Trade-Specific Oversight:
- Supervise and manage all activities related to the specific trade (e.g., pipefitting, plumbing, sheet metal, electrical).
- Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to standards.
- Team Management:
- Lead and coordinate the trade workforce.
- Provide guidance and support to trade superintendents to enhance performance and productivity.
- Conduct meetings to communicate project status and manpower scheduling.
- Scheduling and Coordination:
- Develop and maintain schedules for trade-specific activities.
- Coordinate trade work with other trades and general construction activities.
- Ensure timely procurement and delivery of trade-specific materials and equipment.
- Budget and Cost Management:
- Monitor trade-specific budgets and costs.
- Implement cost-saving measures and value engineering within the trade.
- Approve trade-related expenditures and track financial progress.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders, including project managers, and other trade superintendents.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on trade-specific progress.
- Address and resolve any trade-related issues or conflicts that arise during construction.
- Safety Management:
- Enforce safety policies and procedures.
- Address and mitigate safety hazards promptly.
- Problem Solving:
- Identify and resolve trade-specific construction-related issues.
- Implement corrective actions to keep trade activities on track.
- Adapt to changing project requirements and unforeseen challenges within the trade.
- 5 years of experience as a superintendent, with extensive experience in the specific trade.
- Strong knowledge of trade-specific methods, materials, and regulations.
- Proven ability to manage trade-specific work within larger construction projects.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
