Material Handler/Forklift Operator

Job Title: Material Handler II (Finished Goods)

Department: Shipping and Transportation

Reports To: Shipping Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

· Record truck and trailer temperatures and settings

· Safely unload inbound trucks with product/equipment

· Safely load outbound trucks with product/equipment

· Report any and all inaccuracies/discrepancies to supervisor

· Move product and/or pallets from area to area in the cooler, receiving dock and VAP

· Assist with other duties as assigned by Supervisor throughout the plant

· Adhere to all safe operating practices of the forklift established by B & W and OSHA.

· Expected to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in a safe manner and per the standard set by B & W.

QUALIFICATIONS

· EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE – High School Diploma or Equivalent with basic math skills. Experience driving both a sit-down and stand-up forklift.

· COMMUNICATION SKILL LEVEL – Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

· COMPUTER SKILLS – Basic. Should have a basic knowledge and experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook

· CERTIFICATIONS and/or LICENSES REQUIRED – Must be able to obtain a forklift certification through B&W.

· MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT USED – Forklift, Shrink Wrapper, Pallet Jack and General office equipment.

Must be able to see, hear, talk, sit, walk, push, pull, twist, lift, squat and stand. Must be able to lift and carry approximately 25lbs occasionally.

Must be able to work weekends, and long hours if needed. Environmental conditions are similar to those of a typical production or manufacturing office and that of a packinghouse where temperatures vary inclusive of working in cold controlled temperature of 34 degrees.

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
