As a Billing and Operations Specialist, you will support the Accounting and Operations teams to ensure the carrier billing functions run proactively and smoothly. The Billing and Operations Specialist provides support to both our external carriers and internal carrier sales department along with our operations department. You will verify, update, and process our carrier payables. Our ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail with the ability to be accurate and timely.

What will you do as a Billing and Operations Specialist?
- Audit proof of deliveries and other carrier provided paperwork for accuracy compared to customer requirements
- Proactively research customer requirements and billing details and ask for clarification when needed
- Review and analyze all accessorials adding on the carrier side that may not have been added yet on the customer side of the transaction(s)
- Collaborate with our sales and operations teams to understand their accounting and billing needs
- Identify and elevate discrepancies and errors to the appropriate dept/person for resolution
- Build relationships with carrier accounting contacts
- Display top-notch customer service skills when dealing with external customers alongside internal team members
- Track outstanding issues and consistently follow-up
- Execute administrative tasks, including document uploading and retrieval
- Communicate internally via email or phone to retrieve purchase order approvals, load tenders, and/or discuss billing issues from sales and operations
- Continue to improve and innovate the billing process
What skills and/or qualifications do you need to be successful as a Billing and Operations Specialist?
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business-related field preferred
- Previous billing experience required, minimum 1 year
- Experience with HubTran a plus
- Detail-oriented and enjoys problem-solving
- Excellent and proven customer service skills
- Knowledge of MS Office and Excel
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively and be a quick learner
- Possess strong work ethic and desire for continuous improvement
This is an in-office position.
