What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Tech III position at BAE Systems?
BAE Systems, one of the world's leading defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 Company, has an opening for a Field Service Technician (FST). Candidate may work in any of our USN product lines (MK-38 25mm chain gun; MK-41 VLS; MK-45 5” gun; MK-63 Weather shields; and/or MK-110 57mm gun) and may be asked to travel (up to 50%). Some of the work includes:
- Install, test, repair, maintain and remove electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic systems and equipment.
- Assist in setting up and operating equipment and records data.
- Assist in the preparation of tooling documentation and coordinates the movement of these items to assigned field operations.
- Maintain a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies.
- Share responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills - High school diploma, or GED or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of reading blueprints and technical repair standards.
- Prior experience on U.S. Navy weapons systems (esp. MK-38, MK-41, MK-45 and MK-110) helpful but not required.
- Two years vocational or mechanical training working with basic electrical/mechanical/hydraulic instrumentation tools and hardware plus two years of related work experience. Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to gather information from a variety of sources.
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
- Relevant ordnance coursework or training helpful but not required.
- Relevant work experience in the defense industry helpful but not required.
