BAE Systems is seeking a Quality Manager II as part of the Strategic Missiles Product Area within the Precision Guidance Sensing Solutions (PGSS) product line to lead the Program Quality Team on the THAAD Production Program. The Program Quality Manager will be responsible for the effective performance of the THAAD Program Quality function to include, but not limited to, quality assurance, continuous process improvement, and lifecycle management. This role will also be responsible to drive permanent irreversible corrective actions using quality science tools via 8d methodology. She or he will help integrate APQP/PPAP for key products utilizing PF, PFMEA, Control Plan, Capability Studies, and MSA. Additionally, they will work closely with the Program Quality & Supplier Quality Teams along with other critical functions to provide world class program execution.

- Enjoys working with and coaching Quality professionals and other cross-functional team members to continuously improve execution success on the THAAD Program & throughout the Strategic Missiles Product Area
- Possesses strong communication and presentation skills to facilitate effective communication at all levels of the organization and across multiple cultures as well as into the customer or partner community - able to effectively coordinate across multiple sites
- Needs to be a hands-on leader willing to take responsibility for resolving technical challenges, ensuring successful tactical execution, as well as creating and implementing strategic vision. Has the ability to influence in a dynamic environment and respond to changing Customer and Business demands
- Possesses a strong understanding of Quality Science tools (APQP/PPAP, 8D RCCA, Statistical Process Controls, Lean Six Sigma) along with relevant industry standards and their application to drive execution excellence
- A visible leader with an agile leadership style and able to adjust one’s approach to fit the situation as a driver, coach, mentor, or teacher
- Relates well with individuals at all levels of the organization, builds appropriate rapport, constructive and effective relationships with a focus on mentorship and knowledge transfer
- Establish & maintain a positive and collaborative relationship with THAAD Program Customers while optimizing programmatic execution
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the managing the Program Quality Team on the THAAD Program within the Strategic Missiles Product Area
- Develop & Mentor the THAAD Program Quality & Supplier Quality Engineering Teams with a focus on the intricacies associated with Space Level programs and working with the Missile Defense Agency
- Ensure THAAD Quality performance conforms to established program requirements as well as company, industry and regulatory standards
- Review, analyze and report on quality discrepancies and data related to program execution
- Investigate problems and develop disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies with a focus on the use of the 8D RCCA strategy
- Interface with stakeholders to ensure programmatic and business requirements are met
- Develops & drives corrective actions, dispositions, process optimization and modifications
- Organizational skills – can marshal resources to get things done, orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal, use resources effectively and efficiently, and arrange information in a useful manner
- Exhibits a high degree of technical credibility and communicates highly technical information in a simplistic and easily understandable way
- Provide guidance, insight, and recommendations to ensure alignment with quality policy, strategic objectives and organization goals that drive to Zero Defect plans and Strategy

- 10 Years of project, program and portfolio Quality Leadership and management experience in automotive or aerospace, commercial and defense hardware and software technology risk management
- 7 years of experience with Best in Class Manufacturing Principles, techniques, and Zero Defect tools and processes
- Demonstrated mastery of the functional domain in Quality Science, strategy, standards and controls.
- Strong written, analytical and verbal communication skills
- Excellent Collaboration & Project Management skills with an eye toward mentorship and development of the Strategic Missiles Quality Team
- Capable of influencing a wide range of audience, and having demonstrated leadership skills to win support without direct reporting structure
- Capability to analyze & deconstruct strategic vision into a programmatic, Quality functional implementation plan of action to achieve success

- Technical BS/MS degree (in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering)
- AS9145 APQP/PPAP, prefer CQM/OE certification from ASQ.
- LSS Green Belt, prefer Black Belt certification from ASQ.
- Quality 4.0 implementation experience preferred
