We are looking for a Systems Administrator to join our IT cybersecurity team who will support the observation of cyber techniques, analysis of capabilities, development of scripts, use of advanced analytic tool sets, and providing recommendations for highly technical solutions. The candidate will need to define processes to support the creation of automated analysis to include data flows, processes and procedures used to develop automated analytic capabilities.
In addition, they will support the operation of multi-user computer systems. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards related to the use of computing resources.
They should be able to perform analytics associated with analyzing databases, source code, hosts, middleware, application, Local Area Network (LAN), and Internet networks across Open System Interconnect (OSI) models. Data is stored primarily in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment in multiple data stores of varying types. The data consists of netflow, packet capture, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), host, and threat indicator data.
They will work closely with the analytic platform team to translate and install analytics for testing/deployment in an agile development environment. They will have a hybrid work location including remote as well onsite at the government’s Arlington, VA location.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience in a large environment maintaining operation of multi-user systems and producing system documentation.
U.S. Citizenship required, a current Secret security clearance, and the ability to obtain TS/Sensitive Compartmented Information access.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Desired Experience, & Skills :
Experience assisting in the design and implementation of data systems and databases
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and consistency
Experience in a technical role in projects and programs for Government or Industry customers
Experience as a Linux System Administrator working with RH Enterprise Linux, CENTOS and with DNS and SSH configurations
Knowledge of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) System
Log analysis Tools to analyze, identify patterns, anomalies and security events.
Incident response Tools ie. IBM Resilient, Splunk Enterprise Security and TheHive
Knowledge of reporting tools such as Tableau, PowerBI and QlikView/Wlik Sense
Big Data Tools and data mining knowledge such as:
Apache Pig – high-level scripting platform for nalyzing large datasets
Kafka – platform for real-time data processing
Python with Pandas, NumPy and SciPy librarties
SQL
Highly desired, advanced cybersecurity certification such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification
Experience with technology, tools, and services such as Athena, Cloud Deployment Toolkit, Comprehend, Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), DataBrew, Glue, Juptyer & R-Studio, Kibana (OpenSearch), Lambda, Python, Quicksight, R, Rekognition, Redshift, Various Reliable Messaging Services, S3 & Glacier, SageMaker, TensorFlow, State Machines, Textract, and Translate service.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $89650 - $152460
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
