DESCRIPTION:
The Market Data Associate reports directly to the Market Data Director in the Global Research Services (GRS) department. GRS provides market data procurement, access management and research services to investment teams globally across Bain Capital. In this role, you will be responsible for helping to support market data operations at the firm. This includes subscription management, bank entitlements, procurement for research-related purchases, supporting third party permissions, and other responsibilities as assigned. You will be working directly with multiple investment teams, legal stakeholders globally, and GRS global team members in a fast-paced environment. This position is critical for maximizing the value of our market data & information resources used across the firm.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage global subscriptions.
- Manage bank entitlements.
- Backup for supporting third party permissions, invoice processing, user access, and the contracting process to evaluate, negotiate, and facilitate execution of market data & research contracts.
- Communicate, and ensure compliance of, procedures and guidelines for use of market data & research services to end users.
- Work closely with Legal and Compliance departments during the contract review process.
- Responsible for contract-related correspondence, documentation, reporting, inventory management, and budgeting in ServiceNow, Workday, and FITS (market data inventory management system).
- Serve as a project manager involving key market data initiatives & strategic priorities.
- Provide input on market data and research best practices & policies and procurement procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Able to work efficiently in a high-paced environment and deal with frequent changes or unexpected events while providing a high level of customer service.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, project management, and problem-solving skills are critical.
- Ability to think critically and strong analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly across different audiences globally.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy managing multiple projects and complex situations.
- Manage time effectively, multi-task, and meet deadlines with quality and consistency.
- Minimum of 3 years working in a market data, procurement or operational role in a financial or consulting environment is preferred.
- Strong Excel skills are required.
- Undergraduate degree from a respected institution required.
