What are the responsibilities and job description for the Doctor position at Bain Dental Group?
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for performing routine and complex dental procedures required to improve patients' oral health; performing cosmetic dental procedures that improve the appearance of patients’ teeth, gums, and bite. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Examines patients' teeth and gums to diagnose and treat various oral health issues.
- Utilizes X-rays and computer-generated imaging to assist with examinations.
- Provides dental treatments to patients, including routine cleanings, extractions, dental fillings, cavity, and tooth decay treatments, teeth whitening, bonding, and applications of dental crowns, caps, and veneers.
- Administers local anesthesia to patients as needed.
- Educates patients on good oral hygiene practices; advises them on proper aftercare following certain dental procedures.
- Performs oral cancer screenings.
- Prescribes antibiotics and pain medications to patients as required.
- Ensures that all dental instruments and equipment are sterilized before each use.
- Takes impressions of patients’ mouths for the fabrication of customized mouthguards and dentures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctor of dental surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in dentistry (DMD) from four-year college or university.
- 2 yrs experience are preferred, but we will consider recent graduates with a positive attitude and are willing to accept coaching.
- Certificates, licenses, and registrations required:
- State license to practice dentistry.
- CPR certification.
- Ability to possibly work 1 – 2 evenings per week.
- Participate in 2 philanthropic “free dental days” for the community each year.
- Motivated, ready to grow and learn.
- Other skills required:
- Proven experience working in a dental practice.
- The ability to use various dental instruments and equipment.
- The ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
