Overview:
We are seeking a Line Cook & Shift Manager who is not only skilled on the line but also thrives in a leadership role. This position is a hybrid of hands-on cooking and shift management, ensuring that both the kitchen and overall restaurant operations run smoothly during your shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
Cooking & Line Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items to Baked! standards, maintaining quality, speed, and presentation.
- Assist with prep work, inventory rotation, and ensuring the line is fully stocked before and during shifts.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines consistently.
Shift Management & Leadership
- Lead the team during scheduled shifts, acting as the primary point of contact for both kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- Assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, and ensure all stations operate efficiently.
- Monitor order flow to balance speed of service with food quality.
- Solve issues quickly, including customer concerns, staffing adjustments, or supply shortages.
- Conduct shift opening and closing duties, including checklists, cash handling (if applicable), and reporting.
Operations Oversight
- Manage daily inventory levels and communicate any shortages to the owner or GM.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Support training and onboarding of new team members, setting an example through leadership and performance.
- Keep a clean, organized, and safe work environment for staff and guests.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years as a line cook, with prior supervisory or shift lead experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities; able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge: Understanding of food safety, kitchen operations, and team management.
- Availability: Must have flexible availability, including weekends.
