What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interior Design 2 position at Baker Barrios Architects?
The Interior Designer 2 is a licensed or nonregistered graduate with 6 years of experience. This position requires the ability to develop functional programs and design criteria for a variety of building types and project sizes. Responsible for directing project teams, developing design and planning, and communicating with the BBA project team. Will work closely with BBA practice leaders and clients.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics
• 6 to 8 years of professional experience
• Professional registration preferred or expected to work towards licensure
• Ability to problem solve and leverage resources to the firm’s benefit
• Possesses a design sense and is creative and can look to abstract solutions
• Strong sense of materials and palettes
• Maintain the integrity of design within the project budget
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods as well as building systems
• Strong knowledge and understanding of building codes
• Strong presentation and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Autodesk Revit, Adobe Suite
• Experience with Newforma, Ajera, project management software, etc. recommended
